The inner city location at the confluence of the Elbow River, the Bow River and the Park provide a quiet country-like setting. The pathway system along the rivers and parks is great for bicycling, inline skating, and jogging. Within walking distance are City Center (Calgary Tower), Calgary Stampede, Calgary Zoo, and a nice selection of antique shops, as well as restaurants and pubs.

Hiking in the nearby Rocky Mountains is a pleasant experience for novices and experienced hikers. Many trails feature easy access, picturesque views of lakes and landscapes. Valinda and Helmut have been on numerous routes and can match your desired experiences with well-maintained trails.
Strenuous Bird watching at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, casual tennis close by on public courts, or crafty Frisbee Golf can be offset with the pleasures of coffee bars and many natural and good food eating establishments throughout the city. Both Helmut and Valinda are trained chefs and know many restaurants and their chefs through taste-excursions. |
